Personal Budgets

Personal Budgets give people more choice and control over the care and support they receive.

Local social services departments will tell people how much money they are entitled to and will support them to plan the care and support they require: this is an Personal Budget.

Personal Budgets puts the user in control of the money social services would spend to meet their care needs. Being in control of how that money gets spent promotes independence and empowers the people who use them to decide how the services they need are provided.

Service users are the best people to decide what services they want and need, and Personal Budgets give each person the freedom to plan for their own needs.
