Since August 2000 Delroy has been living at an Outlook Care scheme for people with a learning disability.

The scheme's staff have thought carefully to find new ways to communicate with Delroy.
They have done this while respecting his faith as a Jehovah's Witness.

Ade Lawal Delroy's Support Worker has found a way Delroy likes to communicate.
This is using a 'talking drum' from West Africa.

Delroy practices his drum at a weekly music session.

Sue Carillo the Home Manager said, "Delroy often goes to a local Caribbean restaurant where he always feels very relaxed and happy."
"He invites everyone so they can try new foods and tastes."

Delroy attends Kingdom Hall every month to help him with his religious belief.
Staff bring Delroy's religion to him by inviting people from Kingdom Hall the scheme.

"We do all we can support people to make their own choices by always being ready to learn."

"Learning more about Delroy's religion as well as Delroy having the chance to practice his faith is a good example," said Sue.
