Pauline Dean is a Home Manager for one of our registered care homes for people with a learning disability. She has been with Outlook Care for over 12 years.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
No two days are the same: there are always different issues or problems that need to se sorted out, but I really enjoy working with our service users and staff and meeting people from other Outlook Care schemes.
What have you done at work that you have been most proud of?
During my time at Outlook Care I have worked my way up from Support Worker to Home Manager and I also gained an NVQ Level 4 and Registered Managers Award along the way.
Describe a typical day at work.
There is no typical day at work! You never know what may happen, but mainly the day is taken up by working with staff to support the service users to ensure that they are achieving their daily life skills.
I also spend some of my day dealing with general office work and attending meetings and sub groups.
What are your plans for the future?
To continue being involved in organisational sub groups.
