Brenda Nash is the PA to Penny Taylor, Chief Executive, and is based at Outlook Care HQ, Billericay.
How long have you worked for Outlook Care?
I joined Outlook Care in March 2000 – the Millennium year so time for a change! I worked in the Housing Department for a year before joining the Finance team for a year. I then returned to the Housing Department before becoming the Housing & Care Secretary which was a really enjoyable varied role. I then became PA to the Chief Executive in April 2008.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the variety of work and meeting different people. Working with the Chief Executive and the Senior Management Team has enhanced my understanding of how Outlook Care works and how the organisation needs to evolve to meet the changing environment we work in. It can be challenging at times, but it does have some rewards!
What have you done at work that you have been most proud of?
I have enjoyed working with the Business Development group on the submission of tenders. It is very rewarding when a tender submission has been successful and knowing that I have contributed to the success.
Please describe a typical day at work.
My day starts by making routine appointments, and one of my main responsibilities is to take minutes for various meetings that are held: not everyone’s cup of tea, but it does have its good points! I may also do some work on various projects which are allocated to me.
I can honestly say there is no typical day and this is what I enjoy most – the variety!
What are your plans for the future?
As the organisation is growing I see this as an opportunity for to undertake some further education so I am hoping to commence the Certificate in Management (CIM) at Anglia Ruskin University in September 2008. I see this as a chance to develop with the organisation and to take advantage of the training that is available to enable me to do so.
